Lessons run every half hour:

Weekdays - 3pm to 9pm

Weekends - 12pm to 6pm

We're open all year, except Public Holidays.

Our Studio

Our modern, air-conditioned studio is centrally located in Pinelands, near Darwin Freespirit Resort, just minutes from Gateway Shopping Centre.

Parking is free and well lit at night.


Examinations are recommended, but optional.

Examinations are held by ANZCA and AMEB.


All our lessons are half hour private lessons held at our Pinelands studio.

We have tuition available for all ages in guitar, piano, ukulele and bass guitar.

We focus on 6 key areas of musicianship. All our lessons are one-on-one, so they can be tailored to you. Whether you want to play music for your own enjoyment, play in a band, or study music at a higher level, you’ll achieve your goals at Darwin Music School.

Short Courses

Our short courses for guitar, piano, bass and ukulele run all year. There’s no waiting period, so you can start whenever you like.

Each course consists of 8 lessons, each tailored to your chosen instrument. The course covers the following material:

          General setup, tuning and operation of the instrument

          Simple scales, arpeggios, and melodies

          Chord progressions

          Some easy songs

          Reading chord charts and notation

          Finding the best online resources

General Knowledge

Understanding what you are playing is integral to playing it well.

Technical Ability

Development of your technique by practising scales, arpeggios, chords and chord progressions.
